This small community library FOL group in the Northern Territory recenly achieved a major boost. They were recipients of a grant submission from the Territory Government of $750 for Seniors month. Local bush poets were invited along with members of the public who read poetry, which contributed to a booklet being published.

We are currently planning for our fourth consecutive Senior’s Poetry Lunch held at Taminmin Community Library to celebrate Territory Seniors’ Month. The lunch has grown each year, and we have a few new ideas for this year’s celebration. As well as encouraging new poets to join our more established performers, we anticipate a couple of surprises as part of the program. Once again, one of our local MLA's, Gerry Wood, has ‘volunteered’ to be our MC. The Friends of the Taminmin Library extend to all rural seniors, as well as other interested locals, an invitation to join them at the Library on Saturday 25th August at 11.30 for yet another great Poetry Lunch.
Rural Seniors 4th Annual Poetry Lunch, as part of the Northern Territory Seniors Week, supported by the Office of Senior Territorians.
