Activities & General Notices - Queensland

Hervey Bay

Hervey Bay Friends are held the SEQ North Regional FOL Conference at the end of March. Issues discussed were: Fund Raising Activities, FOL Insurance, FOL Duties, Advantages and disadvantages of Incorporation.

Thuringowa

Hot of the Press! At our last meeting a report was given by Library Manager, Susan Coker, explaining the library extensions and refurbishment.

Celebrating 10 years (1995-2005). Membership has fluctuated between 69 in the first year and 49 this year.

Present members, Jean Paterson, Judy McDonald, Dawn Postle and hilary O'Leary are Foundation members.

Cooloola

Friends recently celebrated 25 years of service. Council treated 110 members of the Friends to a sumptuous buffet. The Mayor said they needed to show their appreciation for volunteers working on behalf of the community.

Toowoomba

The Friends of Toowoomba City Library will celebrate their 10th annversary on Saturday 28th July at 1.30 pm at the library.

The speaker will be Dr Alan Bundy, A.M.
